While the most important job Michael will ever hold is that of being the proud father to Mateo Ali, at Soze he serves as Managing Director, overseeing the business development and growth of the company.

Having entered the workforce at just 14 years old, he has had a front-row seat to some of the nation’s most historic moments over the past three decades. Michael’s profile in the New York Times identified him as “the man you go to if you want to leverage the power of celebrity and the reach of digital media to soften the ground for social change.” His storied career has included more than a decade working as a film director and producer, as well as leading a $10M digital media company until his exit in 2015.

Michael currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Trayvon Martin Foundation and The Young Partners Board of The Public Theater, and is a graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. If you don’t find him at the theater or taking photos on his Leica M6, you’ll likely find Michael and Mateo around the Brooklyn soccer fields or with their dog, Apollo.
