Daveen’s belief that a commitment to art is inherently a commitment to people allows her to lead social impact campaigns with storytelling at the forefront.
Daveen was recently featured in Harper’s Bazaar as an “artist using their practice to shift the narrative around the U.S. criminal legal system.” Daveen has built a portfolio of work that has lived at the intersection of art and social impact. She had the honor of co-creating the Right of Return Fellowship (now the Center for Art and Advocacy); the only fellowship in the nation dedicated to funding exclusively formerly incarcerated artists. Daveen co-curated several exhibitions in several different countries, including The O.G. Experience which was awarded a silver Clio Award for Experiential Events.
She serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Art and Advocacy, Freedom Reads and Prison Journalism Project. Daveen currently spends her time between London and New York City.
