Dear Black Girls

BELIEVE
The edition of Dear Black Girls is a huge step forward in Moment of Lift Books‘ quest to unlock a more equal world for women and girls. A’ja’s personal and professional story is a compelling and inspiring one, her example and teachings should reach each and any young girl out there.
MAKE
We leveraged A’ja’s compelling story and dynamic personality to create a series of videos and creative content for digital and social media, combining production of video and photography with WNBA and personal archival footage. We also conceived and produced two opportunities for fan interaction in Columbia, SC, A’ja’s hometown to celebrate becoming an author with the community that was critical to her life story.

CHANGE
Through our Dear Black Girls campaign we reached sales targets, saw viral level social media metrics, and amplified the voice of A’ja Wilson with her message of encouragement to women. Our trailer for Dear Black Girls reached over half a million views in 48 hours. Our approach built anticipation, spread awareness about the book and A’ja’s exemplary life story and played a critical role in the book’s success as a New York Times Best Seller.
